Dale Stephens will make his long-awaited return to action when he plays for Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-21s against Middlesbrough at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre today, kick-off 2pm.

Stephens has not made a competitive appearance for Albion since the final league game of last season against Yeovil Town, as he makes his way back from a long-term ankle injury.

The midfielder has been named in a strong line up to face the Teesiders, with January signing Leon Best set to be included in the starting eleven.

Christian Walton, Adam Chicksen and Glen Rea, who all featured on the bench in the FA Cup tie against Arsenal yesterday, are also among those expected to start the match.
