Brighton & Hove Albion under-18s put in another impressive performance to record a comfortable 3-1 away victory against Southampton on Saturday.
The Seagulls enjoyed vast amounts of possession all game, yet failed to break the deadlock until the second half despite great efforts from the likes of James Tilley and Dylan Barnett, who both forced good saves from Saints keeper, Harry Isted.
However after half time, Simon Rusk's side did take their chances. One of many fluid Brighton moves resulted in a perfectly placed effort from Will Collar, who gave the visitors the lead from 20 yards out after 52 minutes.
The opener triggered a brilliant spell for the away team, as the lead was doubled three minutes later when Barnett overlapped Jack Rowe-Hurst before driving a low cross from the left into the six yard box, which forced an own goal from Southampton defender Ollie Cook.
Another quick-fire goal was added on the hour mark, this time a low cross coming in from Rowe-Hurst on the right eventually found Will Collar, who applied a much more simple finish on this occasion to get his second, and underline Albion's dominance of the match.

The distance between the sides could've been far greater, with the Seagulls’ flowing attacking combinations creating a number of chances, only for Isted in the Southampton goal to deny them on several occasions. The deficit was reduced though with 20 minutes remaining, but Joe Lea's converted rebound from a Harley Willard free-kick proved to be no more than a consolation for the hosts.
Albion’s victory means Simon Rusk’s side have now won four of their last five outings, and now sit in fourth place in the Under-18 Premier League table.
