Thankfully we scored the second goal which proved vital for us."
Dale Stephens
Dale Stephens hailed a superb first 45-minute display against Rotherham United, but stressed the importance of finding a clinical touch in front goal in the games ahead.
The midfielder rifled home a second goal after 67 minutes, but felt that Albion could have been out of sight with the number of chances created in the first half.
He said, “It was probably one of the best halves of football we have played all year, as I thought we kept it basic and moved the ball well.
“We started sloppily in the second half, and they came into the game towards the end and put us under a lot of pressure from set-pieces; which we knew they would.
“We felt we had the opportunity to score more goals, especially in the first half, but we weren’t able to take advantage of it and they were always in the game at 1-0.
“Thankfully we scored the second goal which proved vital for us.”

Stephens added that he wasn’t at all surprised by the test Rotherham provided despite their league position.“We played almost the same Rotherham team last year and they caused us problems, both home and away.
“So we knew it would be tough, we knew they would work hard and be physical but we stood up to it.”
