This year's REMF match is set to be the biggest yet.
This year’s 15th annual Robert Eaton Memorial Fund (REMF) Challenge Match between Brighton and Hove Albion supporters and Crystal Palace supporters, will take place at the Amex on Monday 30th May, kick-off 6pm.Tickets for the game cost just £5 for adults, and under 16s will gain free entry when accompanied by an adult. This year’s match takes on added significance following the Shoreham Air Disaster in August 2015 where Jacob Schilt, who had played in three REMF games, was killed in the disaster.
The squad of 15 decided to remember Jacob by walking from the crash site at Lancing to Worthing United Football Club, with the aim of raising £500.
The Jacob Schilt Memorial Walk took place before the Hull City match on Saturday 12th September, with over 500 participants and £19,500 being raised for the charity.
The Albion squad for the match have decided to retire the number 11 jersey in honour of Jacob.
Albion CEO Paul Barber will take charge of the Albion side again this year, which includes not one but two Albion legends. Peter Ward will again line up for the Seagulls, but he will be joined by Garry Nelson, who makes his first appearance at the REMF Challenge Match.

Crystal Palace’s side features a mixture of fans and ex professional footballers, with their star man being former Palace and England striker Andy Johnson, who scored 74 times for Palace.As well as this, there will be an appearance from Gully’s Girls who have kindly agreed to come back for one final dance since disbanding four years ago.
Albion legend Peter Ward said, “It's a great honour for me to play in the REMF game, this will be my fifth and for the match to be played at the Amex is fantastic, in fact I'd swim across the Atlantic to be there!
“Walking out onto the Amex pitch that first game in front of a full house made me so proud to be a part of Albion history and hopefully we can get a lot of fans there to see us beat Palace and raise lots of money for the REMF cause,”
REMF vice chairman and event organiser Brett Mendoza said, "This has the potential to be the biggest REMF event to date, it's a massive privilege to be able to host our 15th anniversary game at the Amex, so I have to say a huge thank you to Paul Barber for making this happen.
“There's a lot of pressure on the squad not to lose on home turf to our rivals, and we've got a trophy to defend. It's going to be a great and emotional evening for us, so it would be fantastic to get as many fans there as possible!"
