Last season Brighton & Hove Albion secured a first win at Huddersfield in six years as Will Buckley’s brace secured a 2-1 win.
The Seagulls’ previous visit was back in 2010 when Jordan Rhodes and Jamie McCombe helped the Terriers come back from 1-0 down after Glenn Murray’s opener.*
The narrow defeat was disappointing but was a lot easier to take than the hammering Albion received in 2009 when the Yorkshire side took advantage of Michel Kuipers’s dismissal and ran out 7-1 winners.
Just five months prior to that infamous night, the Seagulls were fighting for their League One lives and came away with a valuable point in a 2-2 draw thanks to Lloyd Owusu’s 66th minute equaliser.
Gary Hart and Chris Brandon both saw red in injury time during the 1-1 draw in 2008 after Robbie Williams had cancelled out Tommy Elphick’s opener but everything went Albion’s way in 2006.*
Jake Robinson put in his best display in a Brighton shirt as he fired in a hat-trick to give the Seagulls an excellent 3-0 triumph and make it back-to-back wins at the Terriers' home following the 2-1 win in 2001.*
It took Brighton four attempts to claim their first win on Town turf. Having lost their first visit 2-0 in 1922 it was another 26 years until the Seagulls flew north again, this time ending up on the wrong side of a five-goal thriller, losing 3-2.
A 2-0 defeat followed in 1959 before the first Albion victory at Huddersfield arrived in the shape of a 1-0 win in 1960 and since that day the Seagulls have won eight of their visits.*
