Oscar Garcia says Craig Mackail-Smith has a role to play in Brighton & Hove Albion’s run-in.
The Seagulls are lurking just outside the play-off places and the Spaniard believes that the striker can have a say in where the club finish in the SkyBet Championship.
He told seagulls.co.uk, “Craig is getting fitter and fitter. He did well with the under-21s but we cannot forget he hasn’t played for more than a year and we cannot put too much pressure on him.
“He is available for selection but it depends on the game. I know his abilities and I am sure he can help us a lot in the last part of the season.”

*Mackail-Smith will travel to Barnsley this weekend and Oscar added that his side will have to adjust to the Tykes’ style.

“They are on a good run and scoring a lot of goals but we will go there to get a result.*
“They play a different way and we have to adapt to that, but we shall try to play our game. We are confident we can get a result.
“Plus we can take a lot of positives from Tuesday. We came back twice and we showed character and determination.”
Brighton’s trip to Yorkshire is the second of three consecutive away games and the head coach says he expects a certain type of display wherever his side play.
“I want and prefer to play at home in front of our own fans as it is better for the players as the fans are supporting all the time.
“But I want my players to play the same way at home and away. They need to have confidence.”
