Another transfer window has been and gone and there was plenty of movement at Brighton & Hove Albion throughout January.
*
The Seagulls began early as Greg Halford’s loan deal was extended to the end of the season late in December, while Shamir Fenelon extended his loan spell at Tranmere Rovers by another month until the end of January.
*
Leaving Albion before the window had even opened were Elliott Bennett, who returned to parent club Norwich City at the end of his loan deal, along with Darren Bent and Gary Gardner, who returned to Aston Villa after their loan contracts expired.

Chris Hughton’s squad was then strengthened as Beram Kayal was signed from Celtic on a two-and-a-half year deal, although the Seagulls did have to wait an extra week for the midfielder’s work permit to be accepted.

Striker Leon Best was next through the door as the former Southampton striker agreed a loan move from Blackburn Rovers until the end of the season, reuniting with Hughton who he had played under at Newcastle United.

Meanwhile Nzuzi Toko left the club after making just one appearance since joining from Grasshoppers in the summer - the midfielder cancelling his contract by mutual consent- while Arian Colunga also moved on, heading back to La Liga to join Granada on loan until the end of the season with a view to making the deal permanent in the summer.
