It’s hard from here to say why we aren't scoring from our chances, but it’s not the first time that it’s happened."
Sami Hyypia

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Sami Hyypia believes his players needed to show more urgency during their 2-1 defeat at home to Middlesbrough today. An 88th-minute header from captain Gordon Greer sparked a late onslaught from the Seagulls, but goals from Lee Tomlin and Albert Adomah meant that the visitors went away with all three points.
Hyypia told seagulls.co.uk, "We didn't have the urgency after their second goal. I don’t know why, but it didn’t come until after Gordon’s goal and then it was too late.
"Nobody needs to tell me that if you are trailing by two or three goals you cannot get back. I remember a game in 2005 that Liverpool came back in seven-and-a-half minutes. I would like us to all have that mentality: to not give up and to keep trying 100%."

Despite the defeat Hyypia believed his side were an even match for Middlesbrough, but that the Seagulls' inability to take their chances cost them."I thought it was quite an even game, but crucially Middlesbrough showed their quality and when they had a chance they scored. It’s hard from here to say why we aren't scoring from our chances, but it’s not the first time that it’s happened.
"There have been other games where we have had great chances and then the opposition have gone down the other end and scored.
"I don't know if it is a question of concentration, or frustration that we are not scoring. I didn't count how many chances we had to score, but I didn't count many for Middlesbrough either."
