Brighton & Hove Albion manager Sami Hyypia admitted the arrival of Darren Bent has created a buzz within the camp ahead of today’s clash with Fulham.Bent arrived at Albion on loan from Premier League side Aston Villa earlier this week and goes straight into today’s matchday squad.
Hyypia told seagulls.co.uk, “I’ve noticed there’s an excitement about Darren being here and hopefully he can match the expectations from today onwards.
“I’ve played against Darren and I remember his pace and strength. He knows where the goal is and that’s a great thing.
“We are very happy that he’s here and hopefully he can help the team gain that winning mentality that we have lacked a little bit recently.”

The Finn went onto explain how he hopes to build Bent’s confidence up as the striker has had a frustrating few months.“He’s come into a new club and he will definitely feel very welcome here. I’m intending to make him feel a part of us and get his confidence high.
“It’s the responsibility of us all to help him back to confidence and hopefully his team mates will create opportunities for him today as he is a great finisher.
“He has the strength and power to do very well for us. We need movement in the box and he has a hunger to score goals.
“If we put the ball in the box I expect him to be there to put it in and that’s his main task.
“Hopefully he will start scoring goals straight away as it’s only short term and I want to benefit from him right away.”
Hyypia added he hopes an extension could be on the cards, if Bent’s loan deal is a success.
“Both us and Darren have to adapt to each other and hopefully everything goes well.
“If it is a success I can’t see any reason why I wouldn’t want to extend his loan but let's see how this period goes first, then we can talk about the longer term.”
