The Albion manager looked back on another emphatic victory.
"The first half is probably the best we have produced here."
Chris Hughton
Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton hailed an emphatic first-half display against Leeds United as the best of his tenure as Seagulls boss.Albion led 4-0 at the break, thanks to a double from Tomer Hemed, one from Lewis Dunk and a Liam Cooper own goal. Hughton purred, ""Like Bristol City, it was a complete performance. At the moment we look like we can score goals, but at the base of that is two clean sheets and a very good reaction to a disappointing defeat at Cardiff.
"The first half is probably the best we have produced here. We are a side that have not been big goal scorers this season although we have threatened, particularly in the first part of the season when I feel that some of our play was really good, especially here at the Amex, but we didn't have the goals to show for it.
"I'm just as delighted with the clean sheet as I am with the four goals. We have seen many games like this where the opposition have nothing to lose and they come out fighting.
"The manager will have got into the team at half-time and there were going to be periods in that second half when we could have been a little bit vulnerable. We needed good concentration levels and we were able to do that. At times we made it look comfortable, but the team worked the game plan very well."

Hughton says he has been delighted with the way his side have bounced back from the defeat at Cardiff nine days ago, adding, "It's very difficult to say why the goals have started to flow."It comes from the players' confidence and ability to get into good positions, but we are not dramatically doing anything different now than what we have done at any time during the season. It is just that we are going through a period where things are going for us.
*
"One of the stats from the Bristol game was that we had three shots on target and scored four goals, with the last goal being an own goal.
"We are getting into very good positions and some of the margins that were not going our way earlier in the season are going our way at the moment.
*
"We now want to try and win as many games as we can. We have three teams above us and they are three very strong teams who are up there on merit. We just want to try and keep as close to them as we can and we look forward to trying to win as many games as we can."
