Skipper Gordon Greer heaped praise on Brighton & Hove Albion’s offensive players after an emphatic 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic – which also included an impressive 19th clean sheet of the season.
The defence have been rightly lauded this season, but today’s triumph came off the back of Tuesday night’s 4-1 win over table toppers Leicester City and means Albion have now hit ten goals in the last four games.
Greer told seagulls.co.uk, "Every game we come out and try to attack teams and get the early goal but there have been times this season when it hasn’t worked – but, like Tuesday, today it worked really well and our attacking players were outstanding.
"Kazenga did really well for the goal. He chased down the midfielder and won the ball back and from that position Jesse Lingard has so much quality. It was a great finish and it set us on our way.
"Today was a really big game for us after the result on Tuesday night, all the boys were right up for it and I thought we were excellent today.
"We have had a few disappointing results going into Tuesday’s game but that was a great win for us, but it was important we continued that form today, so it was a brilliant win for us."
Albion’s captain says that the entire squad has a play-off place in their sights after an excellent week; and that he was delighted to see Jake Forster-Caskey get a late goal.
"Two wins in a week is brilliant and we will give it our all until the end of the season. We have four games left and we will be giving it everything to get wins in every game.
"Jake has been great this season and he is only a young player but he has so much talent and I thought he was brilliant when he came on. I am so pleased for him because he deserved his goal. "
