Charlie Carter says Brighton & Hove Albion women cannot afford to become complacent ahead of today’s match against Charlton Athletic at Thamesmead FC, kick-off 2pm.

The Seagulls beat the same opponents 4-1 in the reverse fixture at Withdean last week and Charlie insists that Sunday’s game will be a much tougher affair.

She told seagulls.co.uk, “We had a great result last week, but I’m sure Charlton will be fired up to put that game behind them and go for the win on Sunday.“They have a lot of quality in their squad and created a number of opportunities against us in the last match, so we cannot afford to become complacent.
“Hopefully we can go there with the same attitude and determination we’ve shown in recent weeks and get another good result.”
Charlie also feels the side has now turned a corner after three consecutive victories.
She added, “Recent results have definitely helped to improve our confidence and we are all determined to finish the season strongly.
“We always believed in our ability as a squad and are now starting to get the results we feel our performances deserve.”
