Wayne Bridge has been named in the Championship Team of the Year, announced at the PFA Player of the Year Awards ceremony on Sunday night.
The Albion left-back – on loan from Manchester City for the season – was the sole Seagulls representative after an influential season at the Amex.
The 32-year-old has made 40 appearances in all competitions for Gus Poyet’s side and has contributed to the joint meanest defence in the Championship, while scoring three goals and accumulating as many assists, which has been recognised by his fellow professionals.
Championship Team of the Year: Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester City); Kieran Trippier (Burnley), Wes Morgan (Leicester City), Mark Hudson (Cardiff City), Wayne Bridge (Brighton & Hove Albion); Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace), Tom Ince (Blackpool), Peter Whittingham (Cardiff City), Yannick Bolasie (Crystal Palace); Glenn Murray (Crystal Palace), Matej Vydra (Watford).
