This season’s ever present midfielder Liam Bridcutt said that Albion can draw confidence off last season’s Championship winners Reading.
This season’s ever present midfielder Liam Bridcutt said that Albion can draw confidence off last season’s Championship winners Reading.
*
The Berkshire side had less points than the Seagulls currently have at the same stage of the season.
*
Bridcutt told seagulls.co.uk, “Reading had a poor start last season and finished strong and look where they are now, so as long as we can get a consistent run going we will be up there.
*
“We have been playing well and not getting the results but things can change for us. Once we get that win we will get the taste for it again and start to push on.
*
“Everyone wants to do well here and nobody wants to stay at this level. We all want to move up to the Premier League.”
*
Meanwhile, the former Chelsea midfielder has been impressed with the quality that Gus Poyet has brought in, and felt that Spanish midfielder David Lopez could become an integral part of the side.
*
“David is a great player and in the games he has played you can tell that he has got great quality.
*
“He links up really well down the right with Bruno and he brings us something different to the side. Once he finds his rhythm he will be a key player for this team.
*
“All the new guys are great players and they would not of been brought here if they weren’t; the gaffer has added something extra to the team that we needed and they have all come in wanting and willing to work to progress in their career.
*
The 23-year-old added that he felt his two newest central midfield partners could be key to unlocking team’s defences amidst Albion’s current goal drought.
*
“Dean [Hammond] and Crofty [Andrew Crofts] get in the box a lot more than we did as a midfield last season and* they are making the chances, we just need to take one now.”
