The 22-year-old Portsmouth-born striker joined Albion's centre of excellence in 2008 from Southampton, and signed professional forms with the club in 2010.*
Prolific at youth team and under-21 level, Barker was limited to four sub appearances for the first team, three at the end of last season, and more recently coming off the bench against Nottingham Forest in October last year.
During his spell with Albion, he spent time out on loan with Lewes, Barnet and Newport County, earlier this season.*
Albion's head of football operations David Burke said, "George has worked hard and made good progress with the club, but his opportunities here are limited, so this represents a chance for him to progress his career at a good club.*
"On behalf of the Albion, I'd like to thank him for his time at the club and wish him well with Swindon and in his future career."
Watch Barker open the scoring against Ipswich Town earlier this season.*
