The Seagulls are using their Championship fixture with Cardiff City on Saturday to celebrate 25 years of Albion in the Community’s award-winning charity work.
Albion in the Community (AITC), the club’s official charity, will have an array of activities taking place outside the American Express Community Stadium before the game and will launch its official 25th anniversary fundraising campaign.
To show its support, American Express, AITC’s main partner and Albion shirt sponsor, generously offered to replace its logo on the Seagulls’ kit with AITC’s – meaning Bobby Zamora, Beram Kayal and all the Albion players will play with AITC emblazoned across their chests.
The club has also produced 500 limited edition replica shirts carrying the AITC logo which will be available to fans in the Seagulls Superstore for £50 – with proceeds going straight to AITC to help fund the charity’s expanding disability sport programme.

AITC currently runs 25 disabled sports clubs throughout Sussex – with 432 registered players benefiting from 2,764 hours of coaching in the last 12 months alone.
Each replica shirt sold will come in a special commemorative box and one lucky fan will find a silver ticket inside which can then be exchanged for one of the Albion team’s match worn shirt from the Cardiff game.
The other played in shirts will then be auctioned online – with proceeds also going to the charity.
Gary Townsend, AITC’s chief operating officer, was full of praise for American Express and urged fans to snap up the limited edition shirt.
He said, “For American Express to suggest swapping their logo for ours for the Cardiff match is a fantastic gesture. The continued support they provide to AITC is hugely-appreciated and plays a significant part in the charity to have the impact it does.
“Albion fans are always very supportive of AITC – they always have been. Hopefully they will buy the special home shirt and wear it with pride.”
