Aaron Hughes and Christian Walton have both played 90 minutes for Northern Ireland and England under-20s respectively while away on international duty.Hughes lined up in the heart of the Irish defence, as they claimed their first away win in four years on Sunday night with a 2-1 victory over Hungary in Budapest.
The defender will be hoping to keep his place in the side for the next qualifier against the Faroe Islands in Belfast on 11th October.

Walton featured between the sticks for Aidy Boothroyd’s first game in charge of England under-20s and kept a clean sheet in their 6-0 victory over Romania at Telford last Friday.

Elsewhere, Albion skipper Gordon Greer was an unused substitute in Scotland’s narrow 2-1 defeat to Germany on Sunday, while Jake Forster-Caskey also remained on the bench for the England under-21s in a 1-0 European Championship qualifying victory over Lithuania.



Forster-Caskey still has the chance to feature in Gareth Southgate’s side when they take on Moldova in Chisinau tonight, 5pm kick-off.

Vitalijs Maksimenko, currently out on loan at Dutch side VVV Venlo, played the first 45 minutes in Latvia’s 2-0 friendly win over Armenia last Wednesday and will face Kazakhstan in a European Championship qualifier today.
