Brighton have been absolutely fantastic"
Richard Page
Sky Bet, the title sponsor of the Football League, gave Leicester fan Ellis Page a sixth birthday to remember when they invited him and his parents to watch Albion v Leicester from the Director’s Box.*Richard Page
Ellis’s dad, Richard, set up the 'text Ellis' campaign at the start of this season in an attempt to raise £100,000 to find a cure for MECP2 syndrome – a rare genetic disease that Ellis suffers from.
Ellis, Richard and his wife Leanne also got a chance to meet their City heroes before the game when they were invited onto the Amex pitch and were also presented with an Albion shirt – signed by the whole first-team squad.
Richard said: “Brighton have been absolutely fantastic. They’ve really made us welcome for Ellis’s birthday and made it a real treat for him.*
“The campaign’s been growing really well and the Brighton fans have been phenomenal in adding funds to the total.
“The generosity of football fans up and down the country continues to surprise me every week.”*
Last week, Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha pledged £23,000 to the campaign, if Richard makes it to all 23 Sky Bet Championship grounds.
Sky Bet started backing the campaign in October, and are paying for a 'text Ellis' programme advert in all Leicester City programmes, home and away.
