Brighton & Hove Albion's media and marketing teams caught out a few supporters this morning as they announced a pretend initiative to start using goal music at the Amex.
Having combed through comments on the club’s social media streams in the past months, the club were fully aware of the overriding distain for ‘goal music’, so the media and marketing team decided to use that against fans on the traditional annual day of pranks, April Fools’ Day.

Albion webmaster Adam Tighe said, “We thought some people would jump on the idea and blow their tops having seen goal music comments in the past, so it was a case of lighting the fuse, sitting back and watching.*
“It was all done in good fun though and it shows the club doesn’t take ourselves too seriously – and that we actually do read what is put on our social media pages!”
The prank drew plenty of comments on social media and fans can head to our twitter and Facebook pages to see the whole April Fool’s fallout. *
