Albion in the Community (AITC) staff were out in force at Saturday’s game with Blackburn Rovers.Volunteers from the charity were busy collecting unwanted caps and sun hats from Seagulls fans as part of the charity’s ongoing skin cancer awareness campaign. AITC asked fans to donate old hats in exchange for a £5 voucher off a new hat from the Seagulls Superstore. The background to the collection is online HERE.
AITC coaches were also outside The American Express Community Stadium pre-match offering supporters the chance to try a football accuracy game while wearing a blindfold. This demonstration coincided with the recent news that AITC had been awarded licences to run a pair of regional talent centres for disabled footballers by The FA. More details online HERE

Elsewhere, the charity welcomed back a group of players from their recent trip to Basel for an international football event. One of the players wrote a diary of the trip, which can be read HERE.The charity was celebrating this week after hearing that one of the projects completed by local young people completing the National Citizenship Service with AITC, had been shortlisted for a national award. The group created a mosaic at London Road Station. More information HERE.
