Charlie Oatway has challenged Albion to stop Forest's winning run
CHARLIE Oatway has challenged Albion to burst the Nottingham Forest bubble by denying them a record-equalling seventh straight win.
The form of promotion rivals Forest under Billy Davies and the significance of the Seagulls’ visit has attracted a capacity crowd of about 28,000 to the City Ground.
Coach Oatway said: “I have played there a couple of times and it’s a fantastic place with fantastic history. They are trying to achieve what everyone else is. They have got a fantastic squad and a manager that knows the club inside out.
“He’s done brilliantly since he’s gone there so it would be nice for us to burst their bubble. That is going to be easier said than done.
“The crowd are going to get behind them but it’s down to us and hopefully if we can get as many people fit and as well as we think we can then it’s going to be a tough game for them as well as us.”
Forest have not won seven games in succession for 92 years. The sequence under Davies has fired them into promotion contention, a point above the seventh-placed Seagulls.
Oatway said: “They have done magnificently well but it doesn’t overly surprise me. It surprised me where they were in the league before that, because Forest were one of my tips to be there or thereabouts. They should be on paper and there are a few more clubs who should be up there pushing us.”
