[h=3]Oatway "surprised" to be above promotion rivals Leicester[/h]10:27am Thursday 4th April 2013 in Albion By Andy Naylor
Albion coach Charlie Oatway thinks Saturday's rivals Leicester should have more of a shout in the Championship promotion race.
* Charlie Oatway is surprised Albion go into Saturday's play-off showdown at The Amex above big-spending visitors Leicester City.
* The first team coach told The Argus: "Yes, a million per cent. I am surprised to be above quite a few.
* "There are a few that should be a lot higher with what they have got (budget) and the firepower they've got. That is a pat on the back for our players, the gaffer and Tano.
* "I look at it sometimes and think they have got to be looking at themselves and thinking they should be a lot higher than they are."
* Leicester are two points behind the sixth-placed Seagulls in the promotion race and manager Nigel Pearson's job is on the line after a dismal run.
* Oatway said: "It's going to be a tough game because they have got some good, quality players. They were my tip to go up automatically, even to the extreme that I would have thought at this stage of the season they would be above Cardiff as well.
* "For me it is surprising they are where they are."
* Albion are monitoring the fitness of former England left-back Wayne Bridge.*
* Oatway said: "Bridgey got a little bit of a bang. He had that against Nottingham (last Saturday). He's got heavy bruising around the ankle but he should be fine."
* The Seagulls hope to have first choice right-back Bruno available for successive away games at Middlesbrough and Peterborough which follow the Leicester clash.
