McGhee says in the Argus that both should be fit for the Watford game in two weeks time. He also states that the club are trying to make the loan deal of Alexis Nicolas permanent.

I want to believe that players will be returning from injury but until they're kitted-up and on the team sheet I'm afraid I will remain sceptical. How many times have we heard that so-and-so player is at this or that stage of recovery only to be told later it is more serious or will be a little later. Reminds me of the scene from the Monty Python movie (Holy Grail) where the castle is being stormed and each scene shows the 'stormers' further away from the castle.

Agreed. And I doubt, in any case, whether the return of Chippy and Oatway will really make much difference to the quality of our midfield or our ability to carve out goal chances.

Chippie would be good news... Oatway is NOT a Championship player, and never will be... his return will make no positive contribution IMHO...

I will be very impressed if we sign Nicolas... I believe he is a fantastic prospect / excellent holding midfielder... :) :)

Yes, we need experience, but if the best we can do is Rodger injured for a year, then I would prefer to invest in Nicolas, who is a good player now...

We are building a team with virtually no finances. If we need to go down to come back up again, so be it. McGhee and the players need our support not a load of whinging about what players we need. We've got what we can afford and it's gonna have to do. Players will be added as and when we find ones we can afford rather than want.

carpenter will bring the best out of nicolas, dont really want oatway back in the team. jarrett carpenter nicolas and currie should be good enough. just need a target man and another centre back as butters pace will cost us.
