O/T Racism/Firle Gypsies

is the racism thing getting outta hand i mean you only need to refer to someones colour of skin to distinguish one from another and you are labelled racist then if you poke at the queers, gays, whatever they are called these days or have a poke at this group or that........now we have a local bonfire society called into question and possible imprisonment for inciting racial hatred by burning a carvan with a picture of children and gypsies in it apparently it was an effergy for the gypseys that upset some locals in the year at Firle, your quality Daily MAil cpvered the story y'day and now i ask the NSC poll is this simply the locals protesting as they say at the lack of authority i.e. say police moving them on and council having a go at them despite clearly burning kids and upsetting the crowds and the onsuing complaints or just hamless fun thats now going crazy where anything you disagree with you are a racist all of a sudden.

Mixed views on this. Everyone IMO is entitled to live the lifestyle they chose. I respect their freedom of choice to do this. Then again, I've had didicoys camping less than 1/4 mile from me. The crap they left behind could have filled a landfill in County kerry Mayo, or wherever they came from!
