O/T NTL/tv question..

I've got tv on NTL/cable here - but a couple of channels have been a blank screen for last week. They are E4 (channel 144) and QVC (channel 20). I can pick up stuff on E4+1 though. I just wondered if anyone has this glitch too.

If you have NTL, you'll know why I don't want to phone them with this question! And it's not like I'm missing anything anyway!

:)

This happens to all my channels occasionaly. Just unplug the box for 30 seconds and turn it back on, usually fixes it.

Thanks, but already done that.
Looks like a phone call to NTL then....

f***ing ditch ntl for sky digital

Sky is the horse of broadcast compared to the car of cable. Stick with your cable provider, you'll have more features than Sky in 2005.

With the greatist respect I was one of the first to convert from cable to cable digitital and was told the same thing, however I gather 5 years on and you still cant interact, use digital text or the volume control on the handset and to cap it all Ntl's custermer service is appaling compared to sky

My Ntl is always doing this and also we lose the listings. It says 'no program schedule available'.It does seem to work if you switch it off at the wall but it is bloody anoying. The only good thing is it is free to phone NTL and wind some fucks into them.

The 'favourites' list disappeared last week - and was replaced by several channel 0's. That took a while to set up again.:(

But we've got the volume control on the handset to work...:)

The horse was great when the car on did 5 miles an hour. NTL isn't a great car today, but if Telewest is anything to go by in 2005 Sky will not compare to Telewest.

An update.......in case anyone is interested...:)

Loss of channels caused by cordless phone next to tv with similar frequency (or something).
So.....an alternative to pulling out the plug, wiping the card etc..... try moving the phone.

That sounds like the sort of reply you get when you phone NTL up.In fact i think that was last Thursdays.

Did anyone get through to ntl when some cheeky hacker had managed to re-record their hold message to something along the lines of "We're sorry we can't answer your call but to be honest we don't give a f*** about you?"

It was a couple of months back now I think, but properly funny.

I have to agree they really are cowboys of the highest order and their broadband service is shite.
