having just updated the handset and all this talk and hype about Nokia being market leaders etc they certainly not up to it all dissapointing and my old Ericcson mayve been black and white and not all singing and dancing but a damm sight easier to use and capable. Even my old Motorolla brick had sum benefits over Nokia and thats saying sumthing! Rant over.

I've had Nokia's since i've been using mobile phones... a bloody long time... I've always found them simple to use.

Me too.

And the reason I got another one was because they are all the same to use; I can use them with my eyes shut.

And because everywhere you go someone has a Nokia charger.

yep 2 simple thats the problem capabilities are limited take for example sending several text messages to same person well confused didnt know which ones got through using message report as just says sent to name and time/date, whereas if you apparently manually place RCT before typing text message you get an error code with explanation if not delivered or 000 error code if successful but most importantly you can tell which f****** ones was delivered as it labels first few charracters of the message! Ask Orange customer services about anything and they are even more simple than the phones!!!!!!

for the first time I have upgraded to a Motorola (brand new phone) and although it isn't as simple to use as Nokia's, I must say the gadgets it has are quite marvellous.

:clap2:

thing is anythings simple once u know how, yep Nokia certainly mite be market leaders but think thats becaise they appeal to young people with the want for changeable handset covers etc and clearly dont have the best features on a phone.

I'm sure there is something of relevance in there James. Would you be so kind as to rephrase it so I can understand it?

use message report and you get a report back saying text is delivered. If you send > 1 message to same destination u have no way of knowing which text was delivered.

Type code RCT at beginning of each message and the report sent to your phone not only tells you if/when/where text delivered but provides first few charracters of the message you sent, so you can tell which one was recieved.

Useful if send several and the recipient maybe has phone turned off as the messages sent dont necessarily get delivered in order sent.

I am on O2 and I only get message sent reports. I don't get delivery reports so I never know if/when texts are delivered.

This is rather irritating.

Try typing RCT then just continue with text message see if works or ask O2 as there should be a way of getting confirmation of delivery/notice of failure as all networks use some for of delivery reporting to track these texts.

I always used Nokia but upgraded to an all-singing all-dancing Sharp GX20 last year. I had to change from Orange to Vodafone, which was a painless procedure.

There are certain things the Nokia is better at doing such as multiple texting but I'm very happy with my GX20 and can't see myself going back to Nokia.

Nokia might be the most popular mobile phone company in the world and as Fatboy says everyone has a Nokia charger but their phones have been superseded.

You can reply on the SPV E200, in fatc any phone that has internet capabilities on your phone you can access NSC and post. Just takes forever as you have to post like a text message.

I am beginning to think that Nokia are losing the plot - they keep churning out phone after phone that looks exactly like the previous one. Some people like this but they are losing market share big time to the likes of Samsung and Motorola.

NOT TRUE, most internet capable phones dont do frames, the e200 doesn't like then but you can get it to work with a bit of creatve URL'ing !!
