O/T LA Fitness

I am considering joining LA Fitness. Is anyone else on NSC a member, and if so can you let me know what you think of the place? Is it good value for money?

I was a member for a bit and found it a bit disappointing.

It's all about location with gyms though.

I am a member. Going tonight (unfortunatly). The gym isn't the biggest, but I don't go for the gym. I go for the classes (which are VERY good). The swimming pool rarely gets busy with kids as the club is more for adults.

If you want pure gym, then go elsewhere IMHO. If you fancy joining funk or bums legs and tums, do that.

Haven't been in ages, so will hate it tonight!!!!

Why don't you have a look around and see what you think?

You are going to get this in most gyms.

I am not flashy or posey and don't wear glittery leggings (god help me and the sight it would be if I did). What I am trying to say is that it is a mix. There are quite a few gay people in there (this is just a comment before anyone jumps down my throat), older people, fat people, skinny people, etc, etc. Go early in the morning if you want to miss the rush of people and skinny leotard people. Or join the classes.

i go to David Llloyd at the Marina. Its good because there is a pizza hut next door where you can immediatly replenish fat supplies after losing them all at the gym.

Thanks for the advice. I joined up last night and first impressions were really good. Spent a good hour in the pool/steam room/spa.

I put my Withdean gym membership on ice while I serve out a six month contract in FoxyPuckenSlough with no time off for good behaviour. Not much difference in the price, both about forty quid a month. LA Fitness is OK for early morning swim (opens at half six) but gets chocka in the evenings. Seems pretty well run tho and the machines are pretty much top of the range. Yeah, good value if you use it a couple of times a week I'd say.
