O/T - Is there anyway to boost WIFI signal?

I currently have sky wireless broadband but the signal is only picked up downstairs, is there any simple way of boosting the signal around all of the house?

Get the Devolo box that plugs into the router and sends an ampilfied signal around the wiring in the walls. Maplins have them.

How does the signal leave the wiring - does the kit come with a re-broadcaster to put in specific rooms?

Guessing the wiring acts as an antenna... At such a short wavelength, a segment of house wiring would act like hundreds, perhaps thousands of meters of wire would at HF -- and that's what SW broadcasters always used when there was room.

Why didn't you tell me about this years ago - this is great - I ordered and it arrived and has changed my 5-year old computer's life.

Also downloaded fixbee to clean up and speed up the system which has done wonders.
