In light of Curries sale last night, can we now have a disclaimer at the top of the board stating "any transfer rumour seen on this page has a high probability of being BOLLOCKS".

All those people who have "talked to players", all those folks who claim to know "a first team player", where were you this week then? We had several bids from Ipswich for Currie, McGhee had a meeting with Currie, and all the while what did we have on NSC?

Harding going to Rangers
Cullip going to Reading
Cullip going to Forest

NSC was beaten by the official site for one of the biggest stories of the season.

I heard from *aN eXtReMeLy OfFiCiAl SoUrCe* that we are on the verge of signing Rivaldo with the money we made on the Currie transfer.

You heard it here first

I just spoke to Scott Ramsey and he said we are going to re-sign Duncan MCArthur from Rye United with the money we made form Currie and also try and tempt Darren Freeman out of retirement.

Good point xSS. 90% of those "I talked to one of the players and they said ..." threads are lies anyway - especially those started by people who've registered simply to make the claim. Perhaps at best they've heard it second or third hand but realise that saying "my mate's mate's dad said that ..." sounds even less plausible.

And even those where the poster HAS actually met the player and has reported back in good faith aren't necessarily true - the Albion is an organisation like any other and in any organisation outside of a one-man-band you're going to get rumors that turn out to be false.

I have a friend who is friends with Danny Cullip and I've heard the odd rumor from him. One was 100% accurate (Booker to Leicester) and the other was 100% false (Tony Adams for manager). Others are/were just ifs buts and maybes, and I certainly wouldn't post anything on a messageboard - after all I've kept the Rocketman's identity secret!

Did you say;

"Oi Harding! Who cut your hair? Stevie Wonder?"
