Many moons ago, some online Friday night poker was all the rage with certain NSCers. Nothing big and flash - small stakes, with some beer and electronic banter.

I was reminded of those times earlier this week and have tried to set something up.

Unlike when we used to play, some of the poker sites now permit the setting up of completely private games. Before we had to mix it with other riff-raff, which was often inconvenient.

Anyway, I've set up a trial game for this Thursday evening at 9pm. $5 is all it will cost you. What you need to do to join the fun...

1. Click on the Full Tilt banner ad which now adorns the top of every NSC page.

2. Download and install the software.

3. Join. On the first page of joining please enter the referral code NSCPoker. This will associate your account with NSC and may earn NSC some pennies.

4. When you've joined and deposited some cash, select Requests > Registered in Tournaments (at least that's what I have to do on my Mac, it may be different on a PC) and then 'Find Tournament by ID'.

Enter the ID: 133839093
Enter the password: albion

...and you'll be in and good to go.

All being well, we'll arrange another one for next Friday evening.

So, what are you waiting for - get involved!

We'll normally go for Friday nights, but (selfishly) I can't make this Friday and the Full Tilt private game stuff looks good so I'm keen to see it in action.

Bozza are you only paying out on winner?

I didn't have prize structure options when I set up the tourny so I've emailed them. Looks like it defaults to 'winner takes all' so I've asked how I set up a tiered structure as I think most would prefer that.

Can all those who join via the NSC link and entering NSCPoker please post here so I can see if Full Tilt's tracking is accurate.

Sorry but did anyone else get a message flash up saying something about an untrusted program accessing your computer? It had a really long file name with loads of random letters?

Not here, but I'm on a Mac.

If you are going via the NSC link it will be safe - Full Tilt are a highly reputable name in the poker game. Are your security settings / anti-virus stuff set very high?

I'm on my girlfriends laptop which isn't exatly cared for so i'd imagine it has basic anti virus jazz. I'm sure it was nothing to worry about.

Thank you.
