breaking news:

Recently it was discovered that the troubled local fast food chain "Uncle Sams" is finally planning to open another branch.

Several years ago "Uncle Sams" was a thriving fast food/burger chain with several outlets in Brighton and many more in the surrounding Sussex countryside. However recently it has hit hard times due to internal mismanagement and poor leadership, forcing several branches to close, including 3 located in prime Brighton locations.(London Road,West Street, St James Street)

As yet the site of the new branch has yet to be confirmed, but it is to be located somewhere within the central Brighton area. Head office refused to disclose the location until "the contract was signed".

Despite its fall from grace, "Uncle Sams" has endeared itself to Sussex folk and still has a strong cult following. Many burger lovers will be rejoicing at this news. Hopefully it is only the beginning of the resurgence of Sussex's best burger chain.

-----------------------

well Tom Hark did tell me to write an article about the decline of Uncle Sams, so I ran up head office the other day and found out that positive news.

I just felt like writing in press release style.

they are.

i assume there is a sort of federalised approach.

he thought i wished to start a franchise and told me to submit my business plan and as long as my location wasnt too close to an existing outlet, they'd approve it.

lol

There's at least two in Brighton (despite the best efforts of the fuckwit owner of the chain to run everybody's favourite burger chain into the ground); one on the 5B bus route up to Hollingbury Asda, and one in one of the sidestreets leading down to the beach.

An Uncle Sams franchise in the town centre would be a goldmine. West Street and London Road were an absolute institution for many years and they are simply the best burgers anywhere!

Reckon anybody with the savvy to bag the Uncle Sam's franchise at Falmer would make an absolute MINT

Do any of you remember the original one down the bottom of a street off western road, cant remember what the streets called now, but it was nothing more than a shack back in the late 60s early 70s, the burgers were the best ive ever tasted, we used to come out the pubs / clubs back in those days and head straight for there, after having consumed plenty of :drink: :drink: :lolol:

You are not kidding! Outsiders wouldn't understand but the reputation they have around Brighton is awesome. They'd sell thousands at the stadium.

Uncle Sams is the first thing I look for when on my annual pilgrimage to Brighton, I was GUTTED last week at the Covvers match to find there were none in the centre of town

The original one at the bottom of Montpelier Road (just past the old Debenhams in Western Road and turn left) is still there, the one you can only fit about three people in.

Perhaps they should bid for catering at Falmer - local Sussex firm etc, good for the local economy.

Also we would get an excellent rating for stadium catering.
