In five days time if another bid fails to find a consortuim to take over which satisfys the league Notts County will fold. They have just had a major setback as the consortuim in place felt there was not enough time so they have pulled out. Fans are organising a protest on Sat. They are as you know founder members of the league and don,t deserve this fate. If Notts County go it wont be long before the domino effect happens and other clubs follow. Oldham are most likely. It will a sad day for football if this happens.:(

Oldham have managed to get £500,000 in time for 8th but need another £700,000 by the 30th to stay in the League.

Notts County need a miracle

Do they have the option of going into administration like Leicester & co ?

I think they could challenge this in a court of law, the league have set a precedent by allowing Leicester to wipe out their debts and start again with a new administration in place. I understand that precedent is an important part of our legal system, if it is set then it may be quoted in future cases, why shouldn't Notts County be able to continue like Leicester did if someone wants to take them over.

Any legal eagles able to explain this situation, particularly if my understanding is way off the mark.

I'm still sulking at Notts C for wasting a Div 1/Prem place after beating us at Wembley. Still, I wish them luck in surving, Idon't want to see any club go bust. My outside bet for going boom has to be Chelski in about 4 or 5 years when matey gets bored of playing Championsip manager with them.

you can bet your bottom dollar if it was a premiershite club
the league would be bending over backwards to accomodate
them until a saviour turned up.

I'm sorry to sound complacent, but barely a month goes by now without some club or other declaring they will fold if 'x' amount isn't found, or if a buyer doesn't come forward. Cue dramatic "THIS IS OUR FINAL LEAGUE GAME" headlines, etc etc.

I don't doubt that Notts County are in a grave situation financially, but I've seen too many of these clubs supposedly "on the brink" somehow manage to carry on and stumble through. I hope thats the case with Notts County - and I suspect it will be.

Possibly but I cannot believe a show of solidarity can do no harm.

Many many fans showed unbelievable solidarity towards us and we should not forget that and a collection is a good way to show appreciation.

If Oldham fold then we loose 3 vital points!! thats one of looking at it. Notts County are in serious trouble and are worse off than Oldham.

What about a solidarity of Nationwide clubs sick of the over inflated wages and TV revenue of the Premiershits that are putting the lower league clubs out of business.

A National day of protest at every ground for a start.....................
