Norman Baker wants to meet his constituents!

A chance here for any Albion fans in the Lewes constituency to meet Norman Baker this week - as his "Baker Bus" tours the area.

As he says in his handout ...

Please do come and visit Norman on his rounds - no bookings are necessary but if you call in advance your appointment is guaranteed. To book call 01273 480281

Maybe he needs to find out how much support there is in the Lewes constituency for an Albion Stadium at Falmer. And maybe he needs to get the message that we don't want his Lib Dem colleagues on Lewes District Council spending our money supporting the Falmer NIMBYs.

This is the timetable:-

Edited. This post was just a gratutious dig at Lord B for mis-typing the schedule so that it showed 4 Thursdays.

Agreed. Won't he get his feet wet, or has it dried up (and I'm not talking about his, ahem, *problem*)?

Can we get Falmer For All banners to line the routes? Or a car/minibus/van driving in front of the bus with a big banner in the back window?

Might be fanciful at short notice, but...
A nice idea. But likely to be dismissed by Baker as just another example of Albion supporters being clever campaigners.

I reckon the best way to exploit this opportunity is for individuals just to turn up and say that they're not happy with his stance on the Stadium. That is more likely to make him think that he's misread the mood of his constituency than anything that looks organised.

Do you have to prove you live in his constituency or can just anyone turn up and say they do?

Maybe a few more people have recently become temporary residents of Lewes!

Tell him that you, as a resident of his constituency do want a stadium at Falmer, and that you want the Lewes councillors to stop burning money on opposing the stadium.

Basically, exactly what Lord Bracknell said.

Early Day Motion 1036 as proposed by Norman Lamb MP

NORWICH CITY FOOTBALL CLUB 22.04.04

"That this House warmly congratulates Norwich City Football Club on their promotion to the premiership; acknowledges the magnificent achievement of Delia Smith, her husband, the Board, Nigel Worthington, the players and everyone else involved with the club, particularly given the extent of the financial crisis which the club faced after relegation to the First Division; and wishes Norwich City success in the Premiership."

Signed by Norman Baker MP

What a pity that a Sussex MP could not bring it upon himself to propose a similar EDM tribute to his local Football League team on the occasion of their promotion to the Championship.

Perhaps someone might ask him the question?

Be nice for that age-old show the politicians what we think of 'em tactic to be rolled out...."the rotten egg"! Has worked for centuries.....Corn Laws, Sufferagettes, age of consent etc etc!! Er, I'll get me coat......

That tactic would just play into the hands of the NIMBYs who would love to be able to portray Albion fans as hooligans.

Stay polite but make your views clear. And in response to an earlier post, just pretending to live in Lewes constituency is unlikely to fool Norman as he will be able to check out people's addresses from the electoral roll. As Lord B says, it will be far better if he gets a steady stream of genuine Lewes constituents who are strongly in favour of the stadium.

Ask him how much Lewes District Council have wasted fighting the stadium at the public inquiry and wouldn't it be better spent on protecting local services?

He has a Lewes councillor with him. I did ask that and at first he said it was nothing to do with him and then I brought it up again and then a third time over the course of the 30 mins and he did say that the chap with him was a councillor.
