We might never know the full story of Bobby Zamora's sudden return to Albion.
As we understand it, it was not so much an on-off-on deal as off-off-off-off-on.
Either way, the clip tweeted by the club one Monday evening of their fans' hero wearing a Seagulls shirt saying in deadpan style “I’m back” sparked Bobbymania.
Despite a quiet week for Zamora leading into Christmas, the move has not disappointed.
Albion’s heady early-season form meant there was no undue rush to get him fit and the night he hit the late winner against Bristol City will long be remembered.
But it’s not just Zamora. Look at the impact Albion’s signings of 2015 (starting with Beram Kayal in January) have made this season compared to the first half of 2014-15.

Look at how the club were able to take their time over making loan additions in James Wilson and Rajiv van La Parra, both of whom hit the ground, quite literally, running. When BBC Radio Sussex reporter Simon Levenson stood in the press box last Saturday and quietly said “Bong...... Bong..... Bong,” he wasn’t practising for New Year’s Eve.
He was trying to offer colleague Johnny Cantor a subtle reminder of the players Albion had badly missed of late without wanting to rudely butt into Johnny's conversation.

And impressive summer signing Gaetan Bong, pictured above, has certainly been missed.
The recruitment team are back too – back in business.
