I fuond out last night that my Godfather is a very good friend on Nicky Forster's father. I thought you may like to hear my Godfather's description of Nicky's dad's footballing abilities - I think it's fair to say that Nicky does not get his ability from his father....

"Reverting to the Forster family, Dick is a good friend and a highly entertaining character! In the twilight of my playing days when I was captain at Holland Rovers (local Hurst Green team in Surrey int.league) Dick played in my side. A real'corinthian'hard man with a resonant rich 'dark brown'
speaking voice and appalling language all mouthed in best public school speak! He was a good man to have in your side as he could eliminate any danger man of the opposition (and frequently did!) By his own admission, he possessed not a vestige of skill and couldn't pass aball over more than about five yards. My gospel was always, "keep possession" on the simple premise that if we have the ball the opposition can't do anything. Simple you would think. Dick would perform heroics in breaking up an attack then come clear with the ball and I or one of the other midfielders who could play a bit would come close to him for the 'easy ball! Not a bit of it, Dick would hoof the ball half a mile into the air and give it straight back to the other side! It used to drive me to distraction but you couldn't change him and he was worth keeping in the side because of the terror he wreaked on other teams! We had to live with his 'distribution skills'!

When he was at Ardingly school at about age 15 he was banned from playing rugby as too many boys were getting injured!!! That is gospel truth.

I think Nick is a little more skilful!"
