OH YES!! I agree with you, there is a small core of the team!

Players who get my full respect at the moment:

Ashley Cole, Gerrard, Lampard, Terry, Defoe, Rooney, L.King.

But a minority feel they have the right to be picked regardless:

Beckham, Neville (leading team rebel), Owen (although I think may be easily led!!)

:nono:

Gary Neville has been outstanding for England in the last year. He had a great tornament in Portugal. As far as I am concerned his is one of the first names on the team sheet by right.

agreed, he always used to be a liability but in the past year he's been outstanding at RB. Certainly a definate 1st teamer when fit.

Yes agree with that, but everytime there is pressure of some sort on the team and the players decide to protest by (unbelievably) refusing to play or talk to media, he is at the heart of it!! If you don't like it pal (not you motr)....then don't PLAY and give the shirt to someone who is happy to play!! SIMPLE INNIT!

I think the players are proud to play for their countries, they just don't like the media, and let's face it who does like Richard Keys, Alan Green, John Sadler et al?

Not only do I think that England players should not be paid for playing for their country, I think they should have to pay. That would ensure that only the most loyal and patriotic ones would be in the squad.
I would pay any thing to play for my country!:drink:
