Loads of working class people including trade union members were vehemently anti-EU. Some well known union leaders life long anti-EU.

(I know that’s not the same as them all adoring Farage)..

Indeed as I was pointing out unions are as big a political organisation as any political party they are there to protect their members but also to get whats best (financially) for them and that is what politics is ll about. Someone who is in a union is not apolitical. Further the view that unions are an instrument of the left or that the 'working class' (whatever that means these days) are always left wing are just nonsense.
