Newcastle are dismantling them. Score currently stands at 5-0. Been an absolute massacre, Sunderland look incredibly poor and are down to 10 men. Just about 10 minutes to go and I reckon there could be at least one more goal in this.

Nah - possession for Newcastle only 65% according to the Beeb. Nowhere near our standards. And Sunderland had Bramble sent off when they were only 3-0 down, so as Claridge would say, that was the turning point in what could have been a close game.

Unbelievably, Alan Smith virtually did say that. After Newcastle scored the fifth his observation was:

"It's 5-0, but that score is significantly distorted by the fact Newcastle are playing 11 v 10."

Unless I've suddenly become a mentalist, Newcastle actually scored LESS against 10 than they did 11.

Newcastle slaughtered Sunderland, whether they would have kept 11 or 10 on the pitch. In fact, they could have sent an extra 5 subs on at the same time and Newcastle would have still turned them over. Now, he might be a nasty piece of work, but Joey Barton is turning into the sort of player that wins matches. Ameobi has found the form and Nolan is frightening in this form. They are sneaking up the League and could be in the top 5 at the end of the season.
