According to Alan Nunn of Portslade in today's Argus letters page, the BHA stadium should be at Preston Park. Why on earth didn't we think of that? It would be perfect to rip up loads of playing fields to provide one for a professional football team. Not to mention all that space for car parking underground. It's the perfect solution!

Would not need a season ticket, could watch from the roof of the building I have a flat in.

Will be one less NIMBY then :lolol:

Alan Nunn sounds like a prize ****. Even I would protest against the stadium there.

Get rid of the hockey club, the cycling club, the bowls club, all the communal football pitches and the folly that's there. Are there still tennis courts ?

Great idea that one will sail through planning

And will no doubt receive FULL support from Mavis Saggytits and her band of numpty NIMBYs.

About on a par with the guy last week who had half the correspondence page devoted to his long, rambling letter telling us all why Brighton Station is the perfect site for the stadium....but concluding that the site has already been purchased and redevelopment has already commenced there, so its not an option anyway.

Why don't you stick a reasoned well constructed response to the Argus letters, highlighting these very points to show this and other cretins like him the up for what they are.

For f***'s sake. It would be funny if the situation wasn't so desperate.

It will get edited to f**k and won't resemble the original-I know, I've had several letters published and not one escaped the editor's pencil.

We were getting equal space but it seems the NIMBYs are being given the run of the letters page these days.

Forgot, they also use the hockey club as a cricket pavilion in the summer and the middle of the cycle circuit for cricket, that can feck off as well when we build this stadium :jester:

In fact this idea appeals more and more when I think about it. Knock down Withdean and treble the ever so popular park and ride and the Albion can use it on match days, parking problems sorted in a stroke and the Withdean Nimby's won't have to worry about who is going to use the satdium next.

Or the one a couple of months back that suggested putting it in place of the West Pier.
Why do the Argus give these idiots space? It surely doesn't make them look any good from a journalism point of view.

when brighton were looking at coming back to Brighton,i always thought the cycle track would have made an excellent temporary ground, better than withdean.

Does a crackpot letter really reflect badly on the paper? Or does it just show up the ignorance of the letter writers?

I personally think these letters do our cause good..........they show up the NIMBYs for the idiots that they are.

What always p***es me off is when they witter on about Flamer being such a beautiful ANOB area, then suggest we build it at Waterhall, which is going to be part of the National Park !!!

What i thought was funny about his letter was the way he was comparing our future stadium with the likes of Millinium Stadium, some big one in America and one in Austrila. All of which were either national stadiums or for larger communities and built in areas that were not prime locations.

I don't mind if we get a stadium approved in Preston Park.

I don't care where our stadium is.

JUST GIVE US AN EFFING STADIUM!!!
