I was on holiday when the new shirt was unveiled. Was there been an official statement from the club for the change in colour?
My thought is that it is to promote greater sales - the recent 3 or 4 have all been very similar, with a lot of people preferring the centenary shirt. Probably the only way they could encourage people to buy the new shirt was to make a more significant change - & they knew they wouldn't get away with losing the stripes!
Can anyone comment?
