I've seen a few comments I've seen on here lately- typically about annoying kids at the Boston game, and the usual debates about who are "real" supporters etc- and I can see us having fun and games when we get to Falmer.

All clubs get better gates when they move to a new stadium, but in our case this will be dramatically exaggerated due to the tiny capacity at Withdean for the last few years.

Are the 10 or 15 thousand or so extra people who turn up to watch at Falmer going to be looked down on by the 5000-6000 "hardcore" who were regulars at Withdean or Gillingham? Will we be having debates on here about the validity of fans who don't recognise every player, or who can't recall a particular goal scored at the Priestfield five years ago?

I find kids at football matches annoying too, along with part time fans who think they could run the club better than Dick Knight . But if we get the stadium, we're going to (hopefully) find 15000 new regulars, not all of whom will be Albion experts.

I can't wait to see some people on here if they get asked by the occupant of the next seat in the Peter Ward Stand what colour we're playing in...

Discuss.

I respect anyone who wants to join our cause, just wish the little sh*ts would watch the game rather than piss around. I recall being taken to my first game, circa 83/84, and was really excited and probably quite annoying, but at least I kept asking questions about the footy. I was hooked imediatley.

Its a very valid point Edna. I for one have nothing against new fans, I hate the Iam a better fan than you debate, the more we pack into Falmer the better.
My comments on annoying kids were my own personal experiences last night, as much as the ones pissing about annoyed me there were others watching and taking an interest in the game. It is the ones that are interested (like me when I was that age) that we should nurture to be the future albion supporters and not Man Ure of Arsenal.
In regards to the Withdean faithfull, why not put them all in the singing section of the new ground together, then they will not have to put up with 'plastic fans' next to them and enjoy the game with 'their kind of people' (no reference to shit Barrymore programme).
Its all about tolerance at the end of the day isnt it?

I don't think we can afford to turn anyone away after however many years of being out of town or playing at a tiny stadium.

Good question, at the end of the day we need to fill a new stadium as best as possible so fans are fans at the end of the day.

Some may well jump on success and then disappear but some of these will need to be converted to season ticket holders.

I can't begrudge kids as I take my 11 year old home and away and his 6 year old brother is going to the Bristl City game.

It would be useful if some of the "new" fans perhaps at least learn a bit about what they are supporting.

There is invariably three very stupid kids at every home game near me but you get used to it.

We won't have a singing section at Falmer! At least I hope not- there shouldn't be any need as hopefully the stadium will avoid the need to make every game all ticket. Thus singers will be able to sit where they want and group with like minded people.

Though it might be useful to have a stand solely for moaning old people who don't want to sing, applaud or do anything other than shout "sort it out Micky/Taylor/Coppell" etc.

I know kids can be annoying, but what would the gate have been without them? Plus it does boost the Albion bank balance (if only a little). Would you begrudge them that? After all, hopefully these kids will be the future "hardcore fans".

BTW, what colour do we play in?:lolol:

Such as the "FG padded cell"?

probably just dreaming....but you never know!

MOre people would have gone to games like last night if they could just turn up and pay on the gate surely?

Guess it depends what division we're in at the time...but Reading's games aren't all ticket are they? Good job or there'd only be 4 people there...

good point,
many people may have wanted to go but couldnt be bothered to go all the way down to brighton and buy a ticket, why dont they just do pay at the gate for ldv and see how it goes, if it works we could sell the tickets that are returned by away fans

If the tickets are readily available via the internet or phone, I dont personally see the problem.
If you really want to go you will get them.

yes but lots of people who are sitting in the pub at 130 may decide to go as nothing better to do and they cant get hold of a ticket and when the ground has 800 seats empty its a waste

I agree with the comments re. ticketing - I know some people who are put off trying to get a ticket because of the capacity and the hassle of having to order tickets x weeks in advance and even then in such small quantities - for example you can oly order 2 adult tickets at a time in postal applications.

Whilst I appreciate the reason for this it doesn't help in selling out the stadium. Anyway we all know the answer to this - WE WANT FALMER WE WANT FALMER

If games at Falmer are all ticket then attendences will be dire im afraid, we need to have people be able to turn up and just buy on the day or decide they want to go on the friday night or whatever.

This would be possible by having a ticket office at the ground that could sell these prior to kick off.

There is no way we will get the crowds for mediocre matches with the current ticketing procedures.
