look at some of the teams that have qualified,

look at some of their players, and the leauges they come from.

then look at England
has the time come when big earning celebritys can't be classed as hardcore footballers who will fight for the shirt.

What if even for 1 game only someone had the balls to drop all of them, and have an england squad made up of all the best players from the Football leauge.

given that chance, imagine the passion, pride and fight for the shirt - it ponders a question, and there is nothing to lose,

this playing without passion and fight stuff is bollocks, it's poor management and lack of strength in depth that has cost us over the past year.

did Croatia look any more 'up for it' than England last night? I certainly didn't think so, but they did look far more organised and assured

they should not pay players for their England duties - either on the pitch or away at training camps. Let them play for the shirt!

Sussex, by the sea
we lack skill individually, none of the England players look comfortable with the ball and our one dimensional game just doesn't work against a majority of nations

we lack a decent board on the FA, a bunch of carrer underachievers underqualified for success on a world stage or at International level (we have no International success to speak of in over a generation)

we haven't had a decent coach/manager since 1996

Managing England is one of the least envied jobs in the profession, hence the lack of applicants who are actually capable of doing the job to a decent standard

a majority of players in the England squad in the last decade have had their priorities set by their accountants and club managers WRONG! if they don't perform then they should be kicked out

we commented to ourselves last night that the Albion LO game was better

Croatia completely outclassed England, again, last night.

oh, and Wembley should be banned from holding another England match, the pitch was worse than Withdean Mid January, disgraceful.

So a battler like Crouch gets dropped because of the likes of Rio and Lampard?

I've got a better idea. How about identifying 11 players with the right attitude, commitment and skill level, keep them together as a group for 4 years and mould them into a TEAM?

sounds great in theory, but never going to work in practice. look at last night's team, the only first choice players out there were Richards, Gerrard, Barry, SWP and J Cole. our problem is lack of strength in depth combined with a manager picking an alien formation to really confuse a bunch of inexperienced players.

Expanding upon my point, you pick a 1st XI and a 2XI and have 2 players for every position. Then, if one gets injured, you bring in the replacement so you can keep the same formation.

In reality this means choices like Owen or Rooney, Gerrard or Lampard - choices that the last 2 managers have not been prepared to make.
