Shock Horror, A Football Thread!

Bournemouth boss Sean O'Driscoll has confirmed that striker Scott McDonald will not be joining the club.

The Australian had been hopeful of being offered terms by the Cherries.

But after out-of contract duo Warren Feeney and Steve Fletcher both signed new deals with the club, McDonald has been told he will have to look elsewhere.

"He was always aware of the situation and at this moment there are other areas of the side that need strengthening, although that might change if we get a couple of injuries," O'Driscoll told the Bournemouth Daily Echo.

"Now that Warren has signed his contract and with Alan Connell looking like he will be back to full fitness after he recovers from tweaking his ankle, the striking positions are not an area I am looking to strengthen."

Anyone remember this little shit playing for Southampton at Withdean in the League Cup a couple of seasons ago? He ran us ragged, he looked outstanding that day... Perhaps we should be sniffing around him as he can also play on the LEFT WING!

good grief they've re-signed Fletcher, that bloke is a disgrace, I've seen him pull so many 16 year olds in Bmuff. Feeney's a druggie, so I'm presuming Scot Mcdonald is not quite as good as he used to be.

We could at least give him a trial... we haven't decided on Giallanza yet, and a left winger is still required...

I think we missed out on George Pilkington. He was at Exeter for a few months and was easily the best player on the park in most of the games he played. He was released by Everton this summer, but has now been signed by Horton at Port Vale.

I thought that Giallanza had been shown the door by the club?

Is he still, in fact, with us?

???

Coppell obviously saw enough in 50 mins to think he wasn't worth the gamble. Almost as bad as failing a job interview.

He did fail it as he is still looking for a club

What about Lee Sharpe now he's left Iceland (or some other cold country)?
He's got a touch of class or is there something I don't know on the 'personal' front alluded to by Football Mundial or similar footy TV magazine type prog??

Too old, and too pricey!...

Yes, Giallanza gone... so, need new target man and left winger...

We won't replace Zamora unless we try to play both target men together. And even then I can't see them getting half the goals he scored.

I think we have to face facts: players like Bobby don't come along very often. The guy was class and we are going to catch a chill next year unless SC changes the way we play.

He's obviously looking to do that, hence the gradual bringing in of new players, but it will take time.

Just give it time - SC has excellent connections with the London clubs - Knight and Sidwell.

Some of these players will know very soon if they are going out on loan once they back from these pointless mickey-mouse tournaments around the globe.
