My last proper week on NSC

Due to a bit of a career change, from the end of this week, I will no longer have the sort of generous (or at least unsuspecting) employer who will allow me to waste my days at work playing around on NSC. Can't believe I've got away with it for so long to be honest, especially when internet access is allegedly closely monitored :clap2:

I'm going to be an NSC part timer after Friday :nono: so if you notice a particularly high drivel count from me this week, it's just because I'm attempting to avoid doing too much work (any at all in fact) and trying to make my last few days in the current job go a bit faster :D

So a quick note to Mr Prescott then: as I'll only be a fairly infrequent visitor to NSC shortly, if you could make your decision on Falmer this week while I can still spend most of the day logged on, I'd be very grateful :D

To the rest of you: muchas gracias for a load of entertainment during otherwise uneventful working days, thanks for every post that's made me laugh out loud and attract the unwanted attention of every manager in my office, three cheers for this year's spectacular promotion finale, and finally, apologies to Guy Butters for any humiliation you may have felt during the early stages of last season ;)

Hoping you'll still allow me to come to the next meet up if I'm a fly by night, once a week poster, the David Lee of NSC, if you will. I feel like its time I put a few names to faces by now....not to mention showing my face at last....

Anyway, 5 more days to go, I'm confident it's going to be a good week football wise. We're going to batter the Swiss, I'm convinced of it...

:ascarf: :falmerspi

You will be sadly missed. You are living proof the girls DO know about football. And comedy.

Don't know about any of the above, but my mornings won't be the same!

No more of the usual schedule...Get into office- switch on PC- read a few e-mails- token bit of work so I can say I've done something- go on to NSC- occasionally switch screens back to work to maintain the illusion for boss's benefit- lunch- go back on to NSC- resurrect career of overweight reserve team defender- answer occasional work related phone call while still reading NSC-deflect questions from colleagues about why I'm laughing at my PC- go home for evening.

Can hear people wondering why the hell I'm quitting any job which allows me to get away with it!

Oh mange-flippin' tout, Edna! You'll be sadly missed! Although congrats on career change which I'm assuming means "better things" even if it comes with the denial of your human right to use NSC all day...

All the best with the new job Edna, see you next season anyway. ;)

Same seat for 2004-05 as far as I'm aware, so I will be there!

Would be nice to think they'd remove the banners from the hammer net next season, just to reintroduce the hammer net goals contest!

It's the overweight reserve team defenders I feel sorry for!

I think you should tell us what your new career is going to be edna.

Not got a job with e-bay by any chance?

Head auctioneer at Sothebys I fancied :lolol:

"Now, ladies and gentlemen, Lot 14, a classic Central Defender, of 1969 vintage or thereabouts. If I can give you a little of the history of this piece: it's been around for a fair while now, and sadly was, for a good few years, allowed to fall into something of a state of disrepair, partly through lack of use".

"Happily it has now been fully restored, and the exterior stripped down considerably, allowing us to appreciate it's fine qualities, not least of which is the impressive size and shape of the piece. This type has become extremely popular during the last 9 months in particular, and, I can assure you, is once again in full working order".

"For an item of such quality and indeed character, I would expect there to be plenty of interest, hence the reserve price of a hefty £5. Let's away then, who will give me £5 for this marvellous piece, Lot 14? £5? £5 to the gentleman in the light blue shirt, thank you sir. Do I have £10? £10?"

I can only post in the early morning and evenings now Edna. You can't read every post but it does make you a little more discerning knowing you only have a short time to take it all in.

I have met you and it will be great to see you at the next meet up.

The more DAFT Bints the better.
