My first match - help please!

The first time I saw the Albion play was around 1967-68, when I was about 8 years old. It was against Reading, and we won 2-1. As I recall, the previous match had been in the FA cup, and we had lost 3-2 to Wolves, having led 2-1 at half-time.
Can anyone help me put an exact date on this pelase?

The Wolves game was a league cup game which I managed to see the 15 minutes of, having been to a school prize-giving evening. I'm sure it was in 69-70 season around September/October.

The League match against Reading was on Good Friday 27th March 1970
The League Cup game against Wolves was much earlier in the season

Thanks - what an amazing site that is THRK! I was obviously older than I recall. I went with a family friend, and was allowed to stand right at the front of the North Stand, despite the large crowd - quite safe in those days. Only a couple of years later I was going on my own, and was at the last match of the 71/72 season when there was a massive crowd (33,000ish?) - 1-1 as I recall.

We've only played Wolves once in an FA Cup game and that was 1978/79 season when we also lost 3-2

As mentioned above, the Reading game was many months after Wolves and you'd remember it as there were some 32,000 there!

That was the Alan Duffy game! Big Good Friday game that apparently was a live commentary on BBC radio, where the famous Peter Jones described Duffs as being as wide as he was tall. I thought we were going up after that - but an awful, inept display at Halifax the next day dented hopes and a 4-1 stuffing at Fulham on the Monday finished us off. Yes - 3 games in 4 days!
