Crystal Palace striker Dougie Freedman has emerged from an injury nightmare to land the First Division Player of the Month award for August.
The Scotland international has erased memories of an injury-ravaged 2002/03 campaign to claim the award after scoring five goals to help the Eagles into fifth place and progress to the second round of the Carling Cup.
The award's judging panel said: "Dougie Freedman's goals and consistent performances have been a major part of Crystal Palace's start to the season.
"He is an intelligent player who creates goals as well as scoring them.
"He has the little bit extra all strikers need to create openings out of nothing."
WANKER !!
