Mushtaq Ahmed would like to return to Sussex next summer after reaching 100 wickets for the season against Leicestershire.
The leg-spinner helped Sussex move to within 163 runs of winning the County Championship title at Hove.
And while he hopes his excellent form will earn a Test recall with Pakistan, Mushtaq is also hoping to enjoy another campaign at Sussex.
"I would like to be back for two years," he said. "I expect us to have a meeting about it some time during this match."
Mushtaq's success has done his bank balance no harm either, according to reports of his big-money wicket bonus rewards this summer.
But asked to elaborate, he was not about to spill the beans on the exact nature of the arrangement. "It is my secret, and I want to keep my secret with me," he said.
"The important thing is that this has been a great opportunity for me to do well for the club - and I hope I am taking it."
