[Football] Multi ball system

You may have seen the incident where a keeper, stranded in midfield, threw on a second ball to stop the opposition taking a throw-in quickly.
Well I saw the same happen twice at Spurs where we were quickly ready for a corner but a player got hold of a ball and purposefully threw it back on the pitch to buy time for his team to get in positions. Such a minor thing that the ref isn't looking for it but it did slow up play and if seen should be a bookable offence.

I certainly saw one example.
Near the end, when we had a corner just in front of us, Perisic deliberately threw on to the pitch one of the spare balls as Solly placed the ball for a corner. Solly played a short corner to Gross to get the ball in play. Attwell must have seen what Perisic did as he had to blow the whistle to stop play but took no action, presumably as it would have resulted in a second yellow for Perisic.
Deliberately preventing the restart of play is a cautionable offence in the laws of football but was ignored by Attwell.

Are you suggesting he doesn’t know what he’s doing?

And right in front of the totally useless assistant so no question that it was seen. It's a yellow.

Yep - about as cynical as it comes.

But, like kicking the ball away when the opposition has been awarded a free-kick, doesn't seem to ever merit a yellow card nowadays.
Apparently rather than an automatic yellow card it has reverted to the referees discretion (so only a yellow if not a top 6 side, and not if you are England captain)

The system was meant to speed play up, but the wise heads of nsc predicted it would be used by cheating coaches. To protect a lead, slow opposition momentum, run the clock down, deliberately get into the heads of opponents.

So it came to pass.

When we played away at Chelsea during lockdown, every time the ball went out of play into the closed stands for a throw in to us, the ground staff returned it quickly on to the playing area. I didn’t notice that happening when Chelsea had a throw!

someone did get a card for this in a game few weeks ago. comes down to the ref/lino seeing it and deciding to punish it.

once again we come back to ineffective, inconsistent, poor officials.

Such is the level of incompetence that it doesn't even register as anywhere near an issue for the club. Just shows how crap Atwell and VAR was that the club issues a 'highlight video' of their incompetence and this deliberate time wasting doesn't even get a look in.

Yet taking off your shirt is far worse apparently.

And said Spurs player was already on a booking at the time

Will never understand it. Give him both the yellow and subsequent red he deserves for doing it and players will think twice.

Let it go and it will simply carry on and get worse. Setting a precedent.

It’s so obvious and easy to implement and do that there is just no reason not to do it.

Does make you wonder if there is an ulterior motive.

Stamp it out first time it happens and it won't happen again.

Like many unprofessional thing players do. But refs are too f******g moronic to see it. Atwell for starters.
