He said that BHAFC would end up 7th or 8th in the league this season. What do you reckon?

I'm wondering if Knight is quite as good as we first thought?? since getting his contract he has been quiet from what I've heard and Mullery really didn't rate him today.

...but then Mullery always talks the albion down, 2 seasons ago he said something similar about our CHAMPIONSHIP winning team.

Didn’t see him on Sky Sports News but I heard about it on the radio coming back from the game. I agree with Ian Hart that he does seem to have some problem with us now. Thought Charlie Oatway summed up what Mullers said very well!

The ref was shocking today as far as the tackles on Leon were concerned. He seemed to be watching a different game whenever he was involved. Oh yeah, Mullery:tosser:

I was told he's still got a bee in his bonnet about not getting the Albion job when Brady got it instead...apparently thought the job was easily his, turned out not to be so then started slating BHA and Brady publicly...."they've signed a well-known ex-player with no managerial experience, it won't work, it hardly ever does, they should have looked for someone with more experience (like me), blah blah blah." Twat....'like the Murphy's'.

Seems a bit harsh, he has always generally come across as being behind the Albion on Sky.

I thought his match comments were fair, and I can see why he has us finishing 7th or 8th because he basically said Knight was quiet and Henderson is no Zamora, so we won't get the goals to get into the play-offs. That is his point of view, he might be right; the bookies don't agree, as they have us finishing in the play-offs, and they are usually right.

Yes but The Albion did the shit on him when they sacked him the second time around. Hence he is bitter and twisted.

lawrenson is just a twat though. He has not had one nice thing to say about us since he left to go to the Scousers!!!!

Agreed. I remember when he put in for the job for a 3rd times, when it was given to Brady. When all of us were amazed at getting such a top name as Liam Brady he came out with it being a terrible appointment.

Hmm, not sour grapes at all though Alan.

However the interview at Selhurst all those years ago was top class, and he will always be a bit of a legend to me for that.

Too true, the bloke's just a tedious bore. Doesn't he claim to be a Preston fan? (Preston Reds more like)

I've said it before and will no doubt say it again. Mullery is very overrated as a manager. Given that he had a playing budget that was the envy of several old first division managers at the time he could virtually buy us promotion. For every Lawrenceson he got us a Teddy Maybank (a deal which helped say his old club Fulham from extinction) and a Peter Sayer (who ?)

He inherited a very good Peter Taylor (the first and real Peter Taylor) which had narrowly missed promotion the season before Mullery arrived. Once again he had cash to play with. His habit of publically critising players was at the best unprofessional and at the worst downright pathetic.

He's also the manager who sold Peter Ward, and got us the next to useless (in our colours anyway) Andy Richie.

He showed on several occaision with other clubs and indede ourselves that he was not much of a manager in the face of adversity. Frankly, IMHO he's not fit to lick the boots of the likes of Micky Adams, Steve Gritt and Steve Coppell all of who had to live with players not up to the task and virtually no money to spend. I would say that Barry Lloyd gets far more abuse than he deserved given the attrocious conditions and restrictions he was working with given the muppets we had in the board romm at the time.

Frankly, I could care less about anything that Mullery says, he's just a rent-a-quote has been travelling on past and far gone glories.

Never forgive Lawrenson for his comment when we were 12 points adrift in Div 3.

Words along the lines of "If brighton go down it's because they deserve to" C:censored: T

Seems to have completely blotted out the fact that he played for us and that we gave him a shop window to make the step up.
For those not old enough to remember, it would be like Zammo never mentioning Brighton again, except to be derogatory.

Come on, all Mullery did was offer an opinion, if thats what his is then so be it, we cant expect anybody to big us up just because they have history with us.

Alan Mullery is an Albion Legend, did a fine job as manager for us and STARTED the rivalry with Palace, Top man!!!!!

At the foot of the downs
I have a vague memory of Mullers last season saying that we were looking good enough to stay up during one of his comentries, so hopefully he got this prediction just as wrong

It's a shame he's so bitter and twisted.
He comes across as a complete knob.
Shame really as he did such a good job in the 70's.
