Cheers m8, bit of a shit though, they all have 3 wheels, robin, trike, sidecar,

i was told aswell you dont need a CBT if you have had your full licence before 1999 i think? wont to get a 125cc for the summer but dont wont to pay £90 for CBT.

Had my licence since 1984

I rode in my dad's sidecar when I was 8. I didn't have a licence.

If You've had a full uk driving licence since 1984 you can drive a 125cc motor cycle on L plates without a CBT, if you fit a side car then there is no restriction on engine size but L plates must be displayed and no passengers may be carried.

You can still drive a robin reliant on a motorcycle licence though I think. It's classed as a trike.

only if its under a certain weight iirc. it applied to the model before, but you had to strip out seats and stuff to pass the MOT to qualify as a bike.

changes alot, on my '96 licence i can ride a 50cc without a CBT but not a 125.

Where poet's live.
Just do you CBT, you will probably need to if you not be on a bike before and teaches you some basic stuff, life savers and road positioning. I'm glad I did mine and I drive for a living.

The thing is though, without a full motorcycle license you're not allowed to carry any passengers I think.

I'm pretty sure this is true. Also if you have a 125 doesn't it need to be restricted to a certain BHP until the Full Bike test is completed?

I did my CBT, but couldn't afford to do the full bike test. Then I found out that the CBT expires after two years if you haven't done the full test. Bummer, cos I'm rapidly approaching 40 and can feel the pull of a big bike!
